Sripad Bhakti Madhava Puri Maharaja read from the Srimad Bhagavatam.

  • A jiva soul who ignores the supremacy of Lord Sri Krsna, a nitya-baddha, develops a deep-rooted enviousness toward the Supreme Lord.
  • If by great fortune such a fallen jiva comes in contact with a nitya-siddha (a mahajan — a divine agent of Lord Sri Krsna), and comes to develop genuine faith toward that mahajan, he/she can recognize his/her eternal constitutional position as an eternal servant of the Lord, jivera ‘svarupa’ haya — krishnera ‘nitya-dasa’.
  • Narada describes the yogic processes pursued by Maharaja Dhrtarastra.
  • Discussion of the sati rite, whereby a chaste woman followed her husband into the fire of death.
  • Thus concludes the 13th chapter of the First Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam.
