Sripad Bhakti Madhava Puri Maharaja read from the Srimad Bhagavatam.
http://srimadbhagavatam.com/1/16/31/en

  • The personality of the earth laments the regrettable condition of civilization during the age of Kali.
  • Despite His disappearance, the Lord can still be with us if we are attached to His devotional service.
  • In the age of Kali, the bulls and cows are misused for profit from their meat rather than given respect for their ability to produce milk and assist with the production of grains.
  • The next symptom of the age of Kali is the defiance of the principles of religion: austerity, mercifulness, cleanliness and truthfulness.
  • The purpose of religion is to teach adhoksaja, that which is beyond our knowing.
  • Maharaja points out that reliance entirely on what we have experienced and know (positivism) is the ultimate arrogance. In fact, all knowledge begins with faith in the form of axioms.
