All Vedic literature describes that, simply by hearing from the lotus lips of a self-realized saint one can attain all perfection in the rarely achieved human form of life. Sat-sanga means talking about Krsna, hearing about Krsna in the association of a pure devotee of Krsna. Satam means devotees. Therefore satsanga means the association of the devotees. Otherwise everything else is asat. Asat means temporary. This material world is temporary. And sat means spiritual. So sat-sanga means spiritual association. If we associate more and more with sat, with devotees, then we become more and more liberated from material entanglements. In the material world we are simply in bad association, duh-sanga. So if we want to get rid of this bad association, we must associate with the devotees. One must approach a self-realized saint and submissively hear from him about Krsna, God and inquire about his own constitutional position. Thus one can attain the ultimate goal of human form of life.
